Trigger Finger

What is it?

Nodule in the tendon that moves the finger.  This creates a mismatch between the size of the flexor tendon and the retinacular pulley.

What are the causes?

  • Local swelling from inflammation or scarring around the tendons

What are the symptoms?

  • Locking or catching during active flexion-extension activity
  • Stiff finger
  • Pain over the distal palm
  • Pain radiating along the finger
