Postural Strain

What is it?

Postural strain is the consequence of repeated episodes of partial tears of spinal muscles and their attachments. This results from fatigue and a subsequent inabilty for the muscle to operate properly.

What are the causes?

There is a history of static loading of the apex extremity antigravity muscles. 

What are the symptoms?

  • The symptoms may include a burning pain at the cervico-thoracic junction, which can radiate up and down the spine. 
  • Diagnostic indicators include positive trigger points in the respective muscle.
